Walsh Memorial Athletic Field.After the city council in a special ■ meeting Tuesday night voted to place fencing around the Walsh field on all sides except 22nd street, I baseball fans Wednesday night 01- [ j ganized and prepared petitions for circulation, demanding that the field be completely enclosed.The petitions, it was said, will be presented to the city council next Monday night. A group of baseball enthusiasts are also ex peeled to attend the session and 11 offer their views.“If the city council stands pat on its decision to partly enclose the park the possibilities of Two Rivers getting into higher class base-j ball and a larger league are doomed,” said one of the signets today.Plantico Comments j Reuben Plantico, president of the ' Two Rivers Baseball association, sponsoring the city team, offered thanks to the citizens for their interest in giving Two Rivers a 1 model park.“Tf we can have the park entirely enclosed,” said Mr. Plantico, “it would be an easy matter to get some of the highest class traveling teams in the country to appear here.
