MOTOR RACES SUNDAY - MONDAYj Big Two-Day Event Planned for theSouthwest Fair Grounds.The auto and motorcycle race meetwhich was scheduled to be held at the Southwest Washington fair grounds August 17 and which was postponed on account of inclement weather, will be held Sunday andMonday, August 31 and Septemberwith more speed demons, both in the auto and motorcycle divisions, than were here for the other event.Race Director R. A. Hiller has made these speed events an annualaffair for the fair grounds and j brings the auto race drivers from all sections of the Pacific northwest.For Sunday and Monday Matt Coons, Seattle South Park race driver, has again entered his Coons Special; from Kent will come Joe Schade driving the Rasmussen Special; Earl Storrs will bring his Mt. Vernon Special; Bob Tate his Burlington Special; Kenny Eckle will beat the wheel of his Eckle Special; Don McKinnon, who has raced twice over the local track and both timestore out considerable of the fair!crrounds’ fences, has entered the His-pano Special from _ Tacoma andpromises to bring a large crowd of the Tacoma auto race fans to see his practically new car perform over this track. Chet Latta will drive the Romano Special and it is more than likely that there will be at least ten specially built racing autos entered in the meet.The motorcycle champions of the Pacific northwest have entered the motorcycle races and will come from Seattle, Tacoma and Portland early Sunday morning to participate in the speed carnival.. C. H. (Curley) Coleman, the now famous motor car starter of racing events, will officiate; the gates will be opened at' 12:30e and the first event called promptly at 2:15.
