King homered in the game to help power the winners offensively.(Staff Photo by Joe Correia)PHILADELPHIA (AP)-“The kids are in heaven,” said Sue Boone, wife of Philadelphia Phillies’ catcher Bob BooneFor the first time in years, Mrs. Boone and her sons, Bret, 12 and Aaron, 8, have their dad at home during the summer to join in their activities Boone, of course, is at home more these days because of the major league baseball strike Bret and Aaron play Little League baseball. Now their father, an Alaska Goldpanner from 1966-68, has a chance to see more of their games and go to parties for their teams and school classes.Things are a little different for the Boones than for the families of most players. Boone is the National League player representative, and has to attend negotiating sessions “He’s in New York a lot,” said Mrs Boone “But we do see more of him than when he’s playing.“Sunday we really enjoyed having him home. We haven't had that in the summer for years.”The one problem they have is the telephone.“It must ring 60 times a day,” Mrs Boone said.
