Former New YorkKnicks assistant and executive Jeff Nix is Wake Forest’s new director of basketball operations.Coach Jeff Bzdelik announced the hiring Thursday. Nix spent 15 years in the Knicks’ organization from 1992-2007, including eight years as an assistant, five years as the assistant general manager and two years as the director of scouting.He replaces Walt Corbean, who was promoted to assistant coach after Mark Pope took a position on BYU’s coaching staff.Bzdelik says the Demon Deacons “hit a home run” in landing Nix. The two worked together in 1994-95 when Bzdelik was the Knicks’ lead scout and Nix was one of Pat Riley’s assistants.
