Soccer £Team Ends * 1982 Season Last Thursday night, Harr- s ison men’s soccer team end- ed the 1982 spring season losing to a fired, up Goodtimers Athletic Club squad 4-2.The Harrisonites didn’t really seem to have their hearts in the game. Their play was spirited at times, but on the whole not quite what you’d expect from a team still with a shot at the league championship.The game opened with the Good timers coming right at Harrison. They scored when an attacker drilled a weak clearing pass 'into 'the nets. Harrison came right back to tie on the ensuing kickoff as left win Joe Shreve crossed a pass to the: middle of the field when Dave Hartman kicked it in.Not long after Harrisontook the lead, again, as a result of some fine passing with Bruce Hunter getting the goal.At this point both teams just went back and forth, at each other, neither able to score again in the half.The second half started with the Goodtimers gaining momentum. 'That momentum grew as they blew right by center fullbck Paul Kaeser and tied the socre mid way in 'the second half. Ten. minutes later the Goodtimers duplicated the same act going around Kaeser again to take the lead 3-2.The hometowners had a few chances to get back into the game but the sky high opponents thwarted every try.The final goal resulted as the Goodtimers drove into the Harrison penalty area. Fullback Kaeser closed in to , intercept. Right fullback Jack 1 Dominic was slogging the J Good timer attacker when Kaeser, feeling he had a . better angle on 'the ball, called Dominic off. The ball then hit a hole and took a strange bounce so neither fullback could get it and the Goodtimers attacker kicked it in past a helpless goalie Rocky Adams.Although defeated the Harrison club still finished in second place with a 9-2 record. (Last week we inadvertently gave the wrong season record).
