MUMOn the baseball front there is only one home game to report on. The Hungry Nine invaded Seven Sisters, June 16, and departed the winners of the game 8-6 Irvine Honke was the winning pitcher and had the Seven Sisters lads under control most of the game. Tony Frantz was umpire, Eddie Kretchmere first base ump There is a great rivalry between these two teams that dates back at least 15 years. So far this season each team has won a game and won’t meet again till playoff time. Fred Henschell used to manage the Hungry Nine and when he called on his supporters to razz a pitcher—man, what a racket The famed “Hamden roar” in Scotland was a gentle murmer in comparison.You don't see Fred around the ball field much nowadays. He is kept pretty busy operating his tourist camp up in the White-shell.KWH
