JAYS WIN 20-19 OVER MINERAL WELLS FRIDAYThe Stepht nville American Legion Blue Jays pulled a wild scoring game out uf the fire Fiiday viijU lit at Memorial field with a football ^orc of 20-li) win over Mineral Wells.The Jays, playing* catch up all night, pulled the game out of the fire in the last half of the seventh when Wayne Zimmerman lifted a fly to right field, which was drop-pod, enabling: the winning run to score.Curlier in the wild seventh the lays got a tie on Tom Louther-haek's three run homer over the right field fence.Tla .lavs in their catch up4 •came, got hi hind seven runs inthe first hut wen* ahead in thethird by adding seven runs.Mineral Wells went ahead again in the fifth with a nine-run rally.Six of the runs wire scored withtwo men out as the Jays sufferedseveral mental lapses afield.Hitting star for the Jays was F{ex Carey, who came from his third base position to take credit for the win, who grot a homer anda double.Fridays won gave the Jays a l~ti record in district play.
