Invaders coach quitsCANTON — The Canton Invaders announced Thursday that Klaas DeBoer will not return as coach of the American Indoor Soccer Assn. champions next season because of a salary dispute. Team president Steve Paxos said DeBoer wanted a 60 percent increase over his salary for last season, adding that the team couldn’t afford it. He did not say how much DeBoer earned last season. DeBoer was unavailable for comment. The league, which will enter its second season this fall, announced earlier that it has removed Commissioner Bob Lemieux and filed a federal lawsuit against its former management company, Soccer Leagues Unlimited of Kalamazoo. Mich., which Lemieux heads. Paxos said SLU didn’t do its job managing the league and violated securities laws. The AISA has shut down its offices in Kalamazoo and is operating out of the Invaders’ offices, with Paxos as interim commisioner.
