The contest was between the professional Keokuks aud the Dubuques. Keas aud Burns formed the battery for the local nine. The visitors present-j ed Hudson aud Hartley at the points. The 1 contest was uninteresting from the first to the last, save a few brilliant Jfeildiug plays aud the batting of the visitors. Keas was in i prime coudition, aud pitcned a hot ball, but the grounds were wet, the ball became moist, aud was pounded at random. Oandolfo, for the home team, played the left field, and made seven brilliant catches during the game. Crawford, on second base, aud Stuart at short made several errors.Crawford partially redeemed himself by hit-tiag a hard fiy over the right field fence, making a home run, amid the applause of the audience. Stewart handled a few hot-liuers, showiug that with a little more practice he will make a model shortstop. The Ke-kuk's have in their nine the champion colored ball player of the country, Fowler, late of the Minneapolis nine. He played a handsome game at second base yesterday, and has the agility of a cat w ith plenty of judgment to back it. The score at the end of the ninth iuuiug was nine to three in favor of the Keokuk, the first defeat the Dubuques have suffered this season.
