BASK HALL.The Keokuks Beat the Dubuque** by aScore of 9 to 3.The game of base ball yesterday afternoon at the base ball park attracted an audience of about 300 people. The contest was between the professional Keokuks aud the Dubuques. Keas aud Burns formed the battery for the local nine. The visitors presented Hudson and Hartley at the points. The contest was uninteresting from the first to the last, save a few brilliant Jfeildiug plays aud the batting of the visitors. Keas was in ! prime condition, aud pitcned a hot ball, but I the grounds were wet, the ball became moist, aud was pounded at random. Gaudolfo, for the home team, played the left field, aud made seven brilliant catches duriuz the game. Crawford, on second base, aud Stuart at short made several errors.Crawford partially redeemed himself by hitting a hard fly over the right field fence, making a home run, amid the applause of the audience. Stewart handled a few hot-liuers, showing that with a little more practice he will make a model shortstop. The Ke-kuk's have iu their nine the champion colored ball plaj-er of the country, Fowler, late of the Minneapolis nine. He played a handsome game at second base yesterday, and has the agility of a cat with plenty of judgment to back it. The score at the end of the ninth inning was nine to three in favor of the Keokuk, the first defeat the Dubuques have suffered this season.
