The boys third class sytem is expected to get an okay by the IMSA, but the girls program appears doomed because of added school expense. The wire services are gradually getting backed into the corner on coverage of junior college sports, something they have shied away from for years. For many years Auld Niep has made an annual request for junior college scores, etc., on the wire, but no one was interested. Now many of the northern Illinois schools have junior colleges and they are applying pressure. The wire services feel, they know their own problems, that for each new thing added on the wire, such as junior college scores, something else must be discarded because of the saturation point sending the information. Let’s hope rowing, yachting, daily horse racing stor. ies and even foreign tennis tournaments can be eliminated for some things that you would like to read.Wrestling TourneyThe wrestling staff at Granite City High School is sponsoring an Olympic Development Wrestling tournament July 17 at 10:30 a.m. in the high school gym.
