AMVET SENIOR BASEBALLHills, Chesapeake win pair of games ,Both Hills Department Store and Chesapeake Midwest notched a tpair of wins in recent Am vet Senior Baseball League play.Hills crushed both Perkins Kiwanis (13-2) and Citizens Bank (18- £5) while Chesapeake blasted Trader Jack’s, 23-2, and blanked jKnights of Columbus, 3-0.In other action, Amvet Post 17 outscored Exchange Club, 17-8, 1while Perkins Kiwanis belted Trader Jack's, 13-2. iHill's 13, Perkins Kiwanis 2Telly White did it all for Hills. iNot only was he the winning pitcher with a 3-hitter, he also went 3 for 4 at the plate with a home run, 2 doubles and scored 3 times.On the mound, he struck out 13 and walked 3.Dennis Norris also homered for the winners and scored twice while Tron Lofton scored twice and had a double and Chris Wade doubled. Scott Hart also scored 3 times and lashed out a single.For Perkins Kiwanis, Kevin Canino, Jeff Lippus and Jason Har-tung each singled. Lippus was also the losing pitcher, fanning 5 andwalking 7 over the first 3 innings when Hill’s built a 5-0 lead.Hill’s 18, Citizen’s Bank 5Everyone got in the act for Hill’s, which scored in every inning but the fifth.Eric Irby benefited from his team’s assault, notching the mound win with a 4-hitter. He struck out 7 and walked 4.Irby also homered for the winners. He added a single to go 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and scored 3 times.Clyde Swander also reached the fence and had a double to go 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and scored twice. Dennis Norris doubled twice and Scott Hart had a double, single and scored twice.Also, Troy Johnson, Tyron Pickens, White, Lofton and Frank Schmenk each doubled and Christian Brady singled to round out the attack for Hill’s. White also scored 3 times while Pickens and Lofton touched home twice.Ben Boothe doubled to drive in 2 runs and Tony Esposito had a 2-run single for the bankers.
