BIG CROWD, BIG FIELDAT SPEEDWAY TONIGHT?With a smile from the weatherman, the largest erqsvd and the biggest field of the season could show up tonight for the racing program at the Kokomo Speedway.There were 47 cars in the pits for last Sunday night’s program when Alan Barr won his first feature race of the season.A full program of super sprints and hobby stocks will be offered by Promoter Bill Upkey, with qualifications getting under way at 6:30 and the first heat race getting the green flag at 8 o’clock.There will be three heat races, a trophy dash, a consolation and a 25-lap feature for the sprinters, and there will be a hobby stock race.Barr joins Jim Elliott and Ron Fisher as super sprint winners at the Kokomo track this season. Elliott has won two features to go with the five he won last year.Barr had to outrun Ray Kennens to win his feature last week. Observers say that battle was one of the closest run at the Kokomo track in the last ID years.The weatherman has been good to Lipkey and the drivers the last four weeks and Lipkey is hoping for a continuation of that kind of weather.
