Two Homers AidIreton VictoryIre ton, la.—The Ireton baseball squad, with the aid of two homers, singled its way to a 6 to 3 victory over Sioux Center Tuesday evening for a season record of four wins against two losses, including three consecutive victories in the Northwest Iowa baseball league.Glenn Vande Garde and Delmer Krommendyk were credited with five of Ireton’a six runs. Vande Garde connected with a homer in the fourth with two men on base and Krommendyk duplicated the feat in the sixth inning with one man on.Gilbert DeStigter of Sioux Center, however, copped home run honors by slamming two circuit slugs over the wall, one in the first inning with empty bags and one in the seventh with one man on, accounting for all three Sioux Center runs.Ireton’s batteries were Thayne Bowden and Melvin Torwelle,pitchers, and Herbert Krieger,catcher.The Ireton squad was credited with six runs for aix hits against three runs for ten hits for Sioux Center.This evening (Thursday) the Ireton squad will travel to Orange City for a game, and will meet Hawarden on the Hawarden dia-mon tomorrow evening.
