Everybody will know when the tourists arrive for the making of a big noise is part of the sport of riding motorcycles. If the riders were denied the privilege of making a noise the sport would be about as tame as playing croquet.This will he the sixth annual Gyp-sey tour of the motorcycle clubs of western Washington and Oregon, and the fourth meet to be held in Cheha-lis. The boys are stuck on. Chehalis and particularly on “Jerry” Sullivan, who is always chairman of the local entertainment committee and on whom falls the big end of the work connected with the entertainment. Ifpany set fire on property adjoining the Blair place and the fire spread into plaintiff’s property. - Damages for $1800 were asked. Monday afternoon the jury awarded the plaintiff $1300 and interest.The. jury wag dismissed until yesterday, when the case of State vs. Joe Stiltner, forgery, was scheduled for a hearing.'The Stiltner case occupied practically all of yesterday. 'This is the last case for trial this term of court.SCHOOL/ OFFICIATES NAMED.At the meeting of the Chehalis school board last week Prof. H. J. Wagner was named principal of the two grade schools, H. H. Hurd viceprincipal of the West Side and Frederick Klaus vice-principal of the Cascade school. .. ’ 'Ed O’Brien of Chicago arrived this week for a visit with his sister, Mrs. J. M. Sleicher. Yesterday Mrs. Sleicher and Mr. O'Brien went to Portland for a stay of a day or two.
