Exchange Club 4-0, but two others lose firstExchange Club rolled to its fourth win in as many outings with a 19-2 victory over Knights of Columbus Friday night in Amvet Senior Baseball League play.The K of C was just one of two undefeated teams to suffer their first loss, the other being Coach’s Sports Corner, which was nipped by Hills Department Store, 9-8.There was never much doubt as to the outcome as Exchange Club scored four runs in the first and came back with three more in the second. They went on to score in every inning of the game which was halted after five innings.Kyle Roth was the winning pitcher with a three-hitter. He gave up two earned run, struck out 11 and walked one.The winners pounded out 17 hits with Roth leading the way. He homered twice and also had a double and single to drive in four runs while Shawn Stacy also homered and had a pair of singles to drive in two runs, DeMar Moore had a homer and two singles and Nile Sims homered and also had a single.Also, Andy Adams doubled twice while Brad Corso went 2 for 3 and Mark Davis doubled.K of C, now 2-1, got a two-run homer from Pat King while both Antywon Grant and Orian Henderson each singled.Leading the way for Hills, which is 3-1, was Tyron Pickens with a pair of doubles while Christian Brady went 2 for 4.Also, Tony Tryanum had a two-run triple, Kirk Fortier doubled and the trio of Jason Herb, John Kersker and James Watson each singled.Fortier got the win in relief, working the final six innings. He gave up five earned runs, six hits, walked three and struck out 14. Herb worked the first, giving up four earned runs on four hits, walked none and fanned two.Coach’s Sports Corner, 2-1, got a double and two singles from Sean McNutt, who drove in three runs, while Paul Brown also had a double and two singles to drive in two runs and Matt Wilkins doubled for two runs.Also, Charlie Franchetti doubled while E.J. Jones and Scott Deming singled.In other action, Eye Team won for the first time in three outings with a 15-2 win over Amvet Post 17 (1-2), while Citizens Bank (1-2) clipped Taco Bell, 14-12.
