The House of David i baseball team nosed out the Chari-I ton Red Sox in the ninth inning of la game played here Wednesday afternoon by a 13 to 11 score. The local nine was leading, ft to 7. at the end of the eighth stanza, but the bewhiskered visitors drove in six tallies to take a four-run lead in their half of the ninth. They were able to cut what appeared for a time to be a Chariton rally to two runs when Montgomery, the lust Chariton player to bat, struck out.Chariton scored once in the : fourth, twice more in the sixth.! pushed four more rudo across in the seventh on two triples and a |lt;iOuble, and finally crossed the ! plate twice more in the last inning.The invaders pushed one run across in the fust, two in tin-third, four in t,hlt;* seventh on three walks, a single and a home run by Williams, and six runs in the ninth stanzaBoth clubs used three pitchers. Maloney, Jennings and Stevenson pitched for Chariton, while Way-i vila. Alexander and Laufer took the mound for the House of David. The locals collected twelve safe blows off thr^ visitors’ offerings, while Rex Sox pitchers gave fifteen hits. The larlt;t:t crowd of the season watched tin- game, and heartily, applauded the “pepper game” which the visitors put on between innings.
