Weather forecast is good, soSpeedway show should go onWith the National Weather Service forcasting good weather through Sunday, a full field is expected for Sunday night’s supersprint and hobby stock events at the Kokomo Speedway.The pit gate will open at 5 p.m. with the track gates opening at 6p.m. for time trials an hour later.The first race gets under way at 8 p.m., according to promoter BUI Lipkey.Bobby Kinser, who won his first local race of the season last Sunday, is expected to repeat this time out. Last weekend’s runnerup, Allen Barr, will be out to dethrone Kinser as will previous winners LouieMann ana Danny Milburn.Bounding out the list will be Ed Angle, Mike Ware, Hon Fisher, A.J. Fox, Greg Stable, Greg Stephens, Chuck McIntyre, Bon Miller, Kerry Norris, Mike Helms, Gary Fisher, Charlie Sarver Jr. and last week's fast Qualifier Tim Buukmiller.Top hobby stockers include Pave Phillips, who is looking for win number three, and Glen Bradley, who is vying for his second win. Other top competitors includeRocky Lucky, Chuck Piker, JeffSteward, Bernie Clark, Jack Heady, Jerry Gain, Kim and Jim Gay, Buddy Warner and a host of others. Sunday’s supersprinl scheduleincludes three heats, a trophy dash and a 25-lap feature with two heats, a trophy dash and feature on tap for the hobbies.Babe RuthKokomoTim Dripps homered and Jim Fanning cracked two singles to lead the Kokomo Tribune Flashes to a 6-2 decision over Rezo’s Angels in one of two game in the Kokomo Parents’ Babe Ruth League at Huston Park Thursday night.Don Banush spun a one hitter with three strikeouts over the distance to pick up the win, defeating Steve Ault, who gave up five hits and whiffed 13 with five walks.Phil Sehreiber tripled for the Angels.The Kentucky Fried Chicken Colonels pushed across six runs inthe fifth inning and five more in the sixth to cruise past the Ralph Stewart Insurance Chargers 16-9 in the second game.Greg Johnson hurled the win, allowing 12 hits with six walks and six strikeouts. Eric Moss suffered the loss,Mike Stevens keyed the Colonels’ 13-hit attack with three singl while Greg Ingle, Doug Carter a Johnson each singled twice. Robb Walker knocked a single and double.John Myers slammed a home run and a single for the Chargers, which ad three singles from Hod Butler and two singles each from Matt Turner and Nelson Johnson.County Babe Ruth LeagueEastern used a seven-run rally in the fifth inning to nudge Windfall 15-12 in Babe Ruth baseball action at Eastern Thursday.Bryon Cardwell pitched the win with a three-j)itler. Eastern cracked nine hits.
