Minor liockey over-organizedPICTON, Ont. (CP) — Minor hockey, like all minor sport, is over-organized, says the newly elected president of the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association.Jack Devine of Belleville told a service club meeting Tuesday in this community 15 miles southeast of Belleville that children are pushed by their parents, who place too much emphasis on the number of goals or runs scored by their children and too little on the child’s enjoyment of the game.Minor hockey associations really don’t want to organize hockey down to too young an age, but if they don’t parents will,” he said.
