Moran, the champion of the District of Columbia. In their training for their twenty-five mile Intercity race tomorrow night.The visitors saw at least LeCompte, who rode In excellent form and worked five miles In 10 minutes nnd 7 seconds behind | tandem pacing. He went the last lap-a sixth of a mile—In 18 seconds, which Is a 4.48 gait. He has three teams from Phlla- i utlphla to pace hlin, his other pacers being Baltimoreans. Each contestant haa ten machines, and besides his pacemakers Mo- ! ton says he expects to bring 1,000 rooters o\er from Washington.Tomorrow night’s race programme, after changes, has becofne largely an intercity affair. There will be a tandem Invitation event. Baltimore, Washington and Philadelphia will be In It and there will be two teams In each heat, the heats to wind up I with semi-finals and finals. There will be a time limit and flying stnrts, and the team beateu In the fastest heat will qualify for the finals. The entrlps are:Philadelphia—Joseph Rogers. Albert Shu-mat, George Gardner, Edward Clift, H. Creasy, Joseph Wegmore.Washington—Frederick Srhade, O. Wilkinson.George Gardner, who is on the second ' Philadelphia tandem, is the champion one-mile amateur of America. lie rode a mile lc 1.42 at Willow Grove, Philadelphia, and Joseph Rogers, on Philadelphia tandem No, 1, won the open events at Woodglde Park, Philadelphia, Saturday.There will be a novice race, one mile, In beats and a final.
