SPEEDSOF PAVILIONWill Replace Old Theatre, Dance Floor, Bowling } AlleysWith more than 50 men working at top speed, construction of the House of David’s new amusement pavilion is being pushed toward completion.The men are working against time, striving to get the building completed In time for the opening of the summer tourist season at the Colony.The pavilion will contain the open air theatre, a dance floor, bowling alleys, and beer garden.It is replacing the old theatre, bowling alleys, swimming pool in the natural amphitheatre.Rain Delayed StartWork In getting in the concrete foundation was delaayed in the unusual heavy spring rains, and thecolony found itself short on time. A large number of outside help has been employed along with the colony members in Its construction.The building is irregular in shape, approximately 200 feet on its longest side, and 75 efet wide. It Is a story and a half on each end. and one story in the center.The new stage where the entertainment programs are given wUl set back considerably farther than the old stage, 'giving more room In front which will nearly double the audience capacity.Stage In New Loeatkm The stage also will be in plain view of the side of the present restaurant: annex, which has beep remodeled somewhat Into a beer garden and soft drink parlor.New dressing rooms at the rear of the stage are being built.A large dance floor, half of which will be roofed and half left open, will be laid, also facing the beer garden.
