BLIEDING was the favorite battery mate of good old Grover Cleveland Alexander who pilots the be-whiskered gentlemen. He has played with Shreveport, La., and South Bend, Ind., and hails from Michigan City, Ind. He was with the Davids for two years. “He’ll be the best catcher in this league without a doubt,’’ says Manager Williams who secured Blieding through contacts made when Williams, too, was hiding out at third base behind typical House of David foliage.The Twins will be back in the home baliwick before June 30 as heretofore declared. They have three open dates, June 23, 24, and 25, on their road trip,being originally scheduled to play the Little Falls team on those days. Williams says the Twins will come home to engage the Kansas City Monarchs, famous negro baseball artists, in a two-game series at that time. The arrangement is tentative as yet, however.
