The Spirit m»lte Regatta.Secretary Alien, of the Iowa State Bowing Association, is sending out the following announcement relative to the regatta:“The Burlington, Cedar Rapids and Northern railway will give us 10 per cent, of ail ticket sales of excursion tickets sold to Spirit Lake on account of the regatta, by that company and its connections, and they guarantee that this amount shall reach S300 in cash. They will give transportation for all actual oarsmen and their shells to and from any point in the state of Iowa. They also agree to furnish a temporary' boat-house at the lake and do all advertising without expense to us. The Hotel Orleans, will, in addition to this, give the association $too in cash; will give oarsmen the best rooms and board obtainable at the rate of $1.50 per day for four clays. This arraugement should insure the most successful meeting we have ever had, and a full attendance of your club and its friends with a complete list of entries will contribute largely towards tills result. The association is in a very healthy condition financially, much more than any kindred organization in the country, and is to be congratulated upon theaddition to its membersnip this year of the Riverside Boat Club, of Sioux City. It has been decided to expend $300 for suitable gold medals to be presented to the winners of this year's races, and I assure they will be beauties and well worth striving for.”The regatta programme is officially given out as follows; First day—J uni or four, junior single, junior pair, junior double, straight canoe. Second day—Senior four, senior single, senior pair, senior double, tub race.
