Pabdoked.—Walter H. Holmes, who wasarrested and sentenced to Clinton Penitentiary for a term of years for erasing names of citizens previous to the draft from the enrollment list of the 17th Ward for $25 a piece, while be was in tbc Provo3t Marshal's Office of (ho Second Congressional District, has been pardoned by the President and released irom confinement. His pardon was mainly brought about by bis wife, wbo went to Washington and interceded with the President in his behalf. Holmea was arrested io February last on a charge of highway robbery on a John Oliver, but was acquitted by Jostice Dailey. It is understood that he will be re-arresled on the same charge on his return to this city, Oliver having brought tbo matter before the Crand Jury.
