Renwick quits IIHF after bid falls shortGORD RENWICK plans to work on his golf game and buy his wife the dog she's wanted the past few years, now that his bid to run hockey's international governing body fell short yesterday. It’s disappointing but in a way it's a relief, Renwick told the Canadian Press from Venice, Italy, where the International Ice Hockey Federation elected Swiss dentist Rene Faael as its president. They don’t want me, so it's time to move on. Renwick was an IIHF vice-president for 19 years. Also departing the international hockey scene is Gunter Sabetski, who spent the last 12 years as the IIHFpresident.
