Clemsondad ForProblemsCLEMSON lt;AP -jClemson University baseball players headed for the College World Series Friday, are beset with problems—and they re glad“We have several problems all of a sudden which we have * to resolve,” says Clemson coach Bill Wilhelm But they re a happy kind of problem.“We have Gary Fahrney, who was out with shoulder separation, swinging a bat for us. He s been out since April 11 and will not be able to play in the field, but we might be able to use him as a designated hitter ”But, the coach adds, “That leaves us with the problem of what to do with our regular designated hitter, A! Hoover. We don’t want to take Hoover out of the lineup Our problem is how to add Fahrney if he can prove to me that he can hit again“Greg Be Ik didn t do too well in the regionals at first base,' he continued “We could move Hoover there or put him out in right field and make Fahrney our designated hitterWe have more depth now than we did going into the re-gionals, and. as a result, we will have to shuifie around our lineup.
