Skoal and Westwind WillCompete In S6-Mi|e Event Out of Toledo On June 27Two Sandusky boat3, the Skoal owned by Lester Milkey and the Westwind, owned by Burdette Red” Foster, will be entered in the annual Mills Trophy Race, to run out of Toledo, June 27.Both Milkey and Foster announced their plans for entrance today. Milkey will enter the auxiliary class, as he did last year, while Foster will put his 28-foot Glass L boat in the racing class. It has**---------------—— ------------------no auxiliary power.The Mills race, one of the most gruelling' tests of seamanship in. the entire summer’s program in this section, will start from Toledo and entrants will touch at Detroit and Fut-in Bay. It will not he known until time for the race, whether the course will be from Toledo to Detroit or Put-in Bay.The entire course is approximately 86 miles. Last year, Milkey was entered in the auxiliary class and finished third after 19 hours out on the lake. Several of the boats in the race were disabled and had to be towed In.Milkey’s boat, 26 feet in length, was the smallest in the field and will probably be the baby” of * the group this year. To date, 29 boats from many clubs In this section have entered.The race will be the first test for Foster's boat, which was built this year and is not yet in service. It is in the water at Fast Battery Park, but her spars have not been plac-ed.Both Foster and Milkey will have local sailors as members of their crews.
