I HE uailt GUURlcR, CuNNcllSVIllE, PA.ST, RITA'S CHAMPIONS - Championship teams, baseball and basketball, have long been a tradition in St. Rita’s Parish, ConnellsviUe. The baseball team shown above is one of those champions, going away back to 1925. Philip Mongell, and Michael Sapanara.Belinsky was the pitcher and Prudente the catcher for this game, which ended in a 5-1 win for St. Rita over Dawson. The game was playedSeptember 4, 1925, at the Dawson Fairgrounds, The St. Rita team was managed by Sam Natale, who is still directing the parish's athletic program. “We had pretty good cameras in those days, too,” the long-time manager-eoaeh observed.Grandchildren of some of these men are still competing for St. Rita.
