Rested completely since his 4-2triumph over the unbeaten Postum Cereals Sunday afternoon, Big Tim Murchison was expected to take the mound at 6 o’clock tonight -when the Hammond Braves battle thefamous House of David team from Benton Harbor, Mich.The giant southpaw warmed up for a while on Turner Field yesterday afternoon and had no troublegetting the ball across the plate. Hesaid his arm felt better than it had for several seasons.The Braves management, however, expected to keep Jake Brosius, ♦ he star spitballer, ready to swing into action in case Murchison weakens. Brosius has pitched goodball for the Braves and, like Murchison, is popular with the fans.Buck Clawson, the slugging Brave first sacker, expected to grab himself a couple more extra base Mows off the bearded burlers. Buck has attracted the attention o? scouts with his long drives.Winding up today’s game, the Braves wrere schedueld to work out Thursday and Friday before taking to the road on Saturday for a battle on Sunday with the Rockford American Legion team at Rockford. The Braves hope to gain revenge in their return tilt with the Rockford athletes.
