Acton-Boxboro Colonial Girls Little LeagueBy * Terry CalderardACTON — If you want to see some great ball playing; come and see the girl’s little league at work. On Tuesday May 28th’s game Debbie Hiccialli of the Blue Jays led her team to vicotory over the Penguins 23-10. Not only did she hit a 3 runhomer,she also pitched and made a spectular triple Play, executing the whole thing by herself. She caught a fly ball and tagged 2 girls caught between bases. Now that doesn't happen too often,Congratulations Debbie. The other winning pitcher was Kathy Rinaldi. Losing pitcher was Cindy Caldwell.Thursday May 30. Game between the Wildcats and the Doves, the Wildcats edged the Doves 7-3. Denice Riehaid hit a home run for the Wildcats. Winning pitchers Pam Vinal and Linda Herstovitz. Losing pitchers were Susan Hoops and Patty Lundy.Friday May 31. Robins vs. Fillies. Even though MichelleCalderaro of the Fillies struck out 6 girls in the first 3 innings, the Robins in a late inning attack beat the Fillies 18-6. Winning pitchers were Nancy White and Tonia McFarland. Losing pitchers were Michelle Calderaro and Tracy Toler. Also, Friday in a make-up game between the Pelicans and the Eagles, the Pelicans beat the Eagles 8-6. The hitting attack was led by Grechen Putonen and Elsa Davion, Singles by Kathy Waey, Julie Fair, Sue Houde, Mary Ring, Laurie Kreidermacher. Wendy Dale and Mary Dorerty. The game ended on a spectular triple play by Mary Ring and two other team mates.Don't forget the Father vs. Daughters game Sunday June 9th at 4:00p.m. at Gates Field. Girls, make sure you bring your Dad because you need a Dad or a substitute Dad to play in the game. Manager for the Girl's team will be Carol Caldwell and for the Dad’s, Ileen Lueey, See you all there!!!!!!
