Turner.Several Hobbs area residents were winners in pistol matches held last week in conjunction withthe N.M. Mounted Patrol’sannual convention here.Dan Girand, Bobby Casselberry and Gerry Reynolds led Troop 20 of Hobbs to the pistol team crown, beating teams from Farmington and Artesia. Casselberry was also high man overall, and led in the unclassified masters category.In the Southeast District shoot, Girand and Casselberry finished second and third, respectively.and the drinks will be provided by the church. Bible school will be heldMonday thru Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. Buses will run regular routes.Persons desiring to ride the bus should call thechurch office, 393-5221.Parents' night will be Sunday, June 15, at 6:30.The four-man pistol team of Charlie Daniels, K. P. Wright, Danny Dunning and Casselberry came infirst in their competition, and in the individual masters competition, Wright was first and Dunning third. Bill Lane of Tatum wonthe sharpshooter contest,and Tony Aguilar of Hobbs the marksman competition.Hobbs women dominated the “Annie Oakley competition, with Mrs. Daniels, Mrs.Casselberrv and Mrs. Lanec.-finishing one-two-three from the seven yard line.From the 15 yd.-line it was Mrs. Casselberry, Mrs. Lane, then Mrs. Daniels. From the 25vd.-line it was Mrs. Lane, Mrs. Daniels, and rs. Flemming of Farmington.Mrs. Daniels was top scorer, with Mrs. Lane second, and Mrs. Flemming third.
