Lanesboro' /Yanks, Tigers Win Babe Ruth OpenersLANESBORO — In the Babe Ruth openers last week the Yanks downed the Red Sox 4-2, and the Tigers beat the Orioles, 4-1. Bill Delmolino pitched the Yanks to the win, allowing two I hits striking out 10 without I walking a batter. George Rollins made an unassisted double play at first to wrap up the win.Norm Auger and Ross Bentz played well for the Red Sox. The games leading hitters were Paul Traversa and Henry Andersen for the Yanks. Hitting hard for the Red Sox were Tom Roy who hit a home run and Billy' Nylic.In the Tigers-Orioles game, Steve Harrington picked up the win for the Tigers striking out 10.
