little Leaguers In Two BattlesThe seventh Little League dou-bleheader was reeled off at the park Tuesday, May 27, with Park Grace edging Burlington 13-9 In the second game and Kiwants blasting Jaycees 14-3 in the opener. ‘Freddie Hambright led the 14-hit Kiwanis attack with 3 for 5. Dave Plonk, Dave Falls, John McGinnis and Reggie Cornwell each had a pair of knocks for the winners. Randy Cash, who took over mound duty for McGinnis In the fifth, had a double in one trip.Billy Ware went the route for the losers. . . ^Keith Layton had a double and a single to pace the losers six* hit attack. Gerald Thomasson, with two, and Ware and Henry Foster, with one each, got the other bingles. vPark Grace won . the second game although outhit by the scrappy Burlington nine.BurMil got 12 hits off Jerry Wright, Berry Smith and Ken Bailey, Buddy Connor paced the attack with four hits. Don Tig nor got three end Don Smith, Bill Childress, Roger Piemans, Ken Huffstlckier and Hollifield got one each. Tignor had a triple and Childress a double,Boyd Smith had two hits for the winners. Bob Smith, Bud Bumgardner, Jerry Mulilnax, Charles Cleary, Ken Bolin and Banks Guyton got the others, Mullinax had a triple and Cleary*a double.Chaim is Johnson and Don Smith pitched for the losers.Addition of a regulation Little League fence marked play in the games Tuesday, with Dave Falls hitting the first homer over the left field wall.
