(AP) Morgantown High School's Chris Curry took the state high school golf championship Tues day with a victory in a one hole sudden death play-off with Princeton's John Snidow, who tied Curry in regulation play. Greenbrier East High School took the team championship with 325 strokes. The runner-up was Parkersburg South with 326 strokes. Defending champ Morgantown finished third with 337. Both Curry and Snidow fin ished with scores of 77 in the 18-hole tournament at the Glade Springs course in this Raleigh County community. But in the sudden death hole, Curry shot four, while Snidow had five. Dave Ambrose of Greenbrier East finished third with 78. Other team members scoring for Princeton was Tom West with an 81, Rick White had 88 and Brian Wetzel 92. Steve Neal of Bluefield did not play in the state golf tourney Tuesday. The state title was the second for Greenbrier East. They also won in 1971.
