McGovern Makes Good Showing.New York, May 29.—Terry McGovern of Brooklyn surprised everybody by his wonderful showing against Jimmy Briit of California in a ten-round bout before the Twentieth Century club, in the ‘Madison Square Garden. As no decision can be given under the law governing boxing in this state, the spectators had to judge for themselves as to the relative merits of the men. Immediately after the fight, both the principals, Manager Harry Pollock, 'Referee Tim Ilurst and ten others were arrested, charged with participating in and conducting a prize light.
