5 Runs in 8th Beats BrodheadPlayground GamesBRODHEAD — Monroe scored five runs in the eighth inning to defeat Brodhead, 5-0, in a State Line Junior Legion League baseball game Thursday.For seven innings Dave Grams of Monroe and Don Morgan of Brodhead hitched up in a pitching duel with neither giving ground. An error in the eighth inning was the opening wedge for Monroe’s victory.Dick Boll was safe on an prror and Grams beat out a bunt. Jerry Schliem was walked intentionally. Morgan was unable to locate the plate and walked Larry Racknow, forcing in what proved to be the winning run. Pete Dannerbeck doubled in two runs and Ballard tallied the other two with a sin-g1?-Grams gave up only three hits, fanned 16 and walked four.
