DETROIT PICKS UP PAIR OF PLAYERSBilly Doyle, scout for the Detroit Tigers, watched the Blue Ridge Leaguers in action on Saturday and yesterday and when he left town he had the signed contracts of two of the Hagerstown players safely tucked away in his coat pocket. “Lefty** Joe Shaffer and Robert Keller were the lads Doyle took from the Hagerstown team and they will report to the Tiger management at the close of the B ue R»dge season. The signing of the two players makes five men that have gene to higher company outof the B ue R*dge. Hemcle of Chcmbersburg went to the St. Louis Cards, Sha'fer and Keller to the Detroit T gers, MacKen-*ie and Six of Frederick went to the Southern League.
