Sunday at Wichita Falls Dragway on Farm Road 369 when Charlie Smith and his “Invader** from Oklahoma City meets the Jackson - Richardson “Wild Hare** from Plainview, Texas.Roth of the Class A fuel cars are Chevrolet-powered. Smith is 1964 world champion and the present world record holder, while the Plainview crew are the 1965 Texas-New Mexico Top Fuel Eliminator and are highlyregarded on the high plains.Gene SnowLeading the Class A Factory Experimentals will be Gene Snow of Fort Worth in an all-new Plymouth Hemi-head car. Other high performance cars including 396 Chevrolets will be on the track in this division. Snow reports time in the mid-IQ second range and speeds up to 135 miles per hour.Jim Tibbitts, strip manager, announced that others slated here4for top drag racing will include the Texas Jacks Racing Teamfrom Plainview; the Eliminators Racing Team from Abilene; and the Challengers from Mineral Wells, plus scores of other top performers from the two-state area. 11In addition to $300 in eliminator prizes, each class winner will have a choice of five trophies.Time trials will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday with eliminations beginning at 1:30 p.m.
