The first four laps of the 20-lap event were completed and Bernie Keller was in a three-way duel with Richard Doane of Dundee,Illinois and Roger Donovanfor the overall lead in the race.Lang and Keller taking firsts in the A-Production and C-Modified classes. Helferich was second in the G-Modified,In each race several classes of cars compete for both overall race and individual class honors.Mansfield’s Rod Allen did quite well, placing second in the H-Production class championship race. He had finished third in the morning qualifier.In a spectacular spill, Dante Car done of Cincinnati flipped his Austin-Healy Sprit# on a 90-degree left turn. Car-done's car flipped completely over and then came to a rest upside down.Cardone, protected by a roll bar and seat belt, escaped with a few scratched.Some 156 cars from seven states and Canada competed in the two-day program thi*. past weekend.The event was the second of four slated at mid-Ohio this season. His time of 1:55.03 raised the course record to 75.13 mph and eclipsed the old mark of 1:57 (73.85 mph) set Saturday by Gerald Mong of Medina.The rains came and the drivers slowed.
