HOUSE OF DAVID TO PLAY BRAVESThe House of David baseball team, composed of athletes who hide behind their whiskers, will play the Braves Monday night Aug. 1st at Braves held. The 'game is scheduled to begin as soon as it gets dark, sometime between 8.30 o'clock and 2 and will be played under arc lights.It will be the first night game played in a Boston big league park. The House of David club has its own lighting-outfit which makes the playing surface so bright that the infielders have no trouble handling grounders and the outfielders camp under fly' balls as easily as if the pastime were being played in the day time.‘The electric flood light system used by the House of David team is a portable set and can be installed In one hour. The large projectors are mounted on 50 foot poles and are so placed that the entire playing is brilliantly illuminated.This game will be a novelty for the fans, because they not only will see a moonlight pastime but they also will be looking at one of the most colorful clubs in baseball.Grover Cleveland Alexander, one of the greatest pitchers in the history ofthe game, is slated to oppose theBraves. Ha is the only member of the club who does not wear a beard or braid his hair.iUexanrier made the Braves moanalmost every time he faced them while wearing the Uvery of the Phillies,Cubs and. He is a strict vegetarian. and never has cut 'his hair or shaved. He was born in;Australia.Ben Purnell, called the “King Ben”, who founded the House of David religion and colony at Benton Harbor, Michigan and ruled it. like a king, went to Australia in 1908 and converted and brought to this country about 80 Australians. Among them was the Harrison Family.
