A hundred or more local fans witnessed the slaughter Intoxicated with their long list of victories, the Gettysburg nine were at the mercy of the vengeful Hanoverians, from the time the first ball was pitched, and at no time did they show any symptoms of the big league stuff that characterized their playing before their successes spoiled them. The Hanover game was the climax of the past week and what a climax it was!Seven errors in the York game last Saturday and a miserable exhibition before the Salad Birds Wednesday-failed to teach a lesson, possibly be-] cause Gettysburg won in spite of them. Scherdel pitched for Hanover., The neighboring town will arrive by special train with a brass band on Saturday. If the locals “come back** 1 all will be forgiven. f Fans are asked to meet on the Square at 2:30 Saturday afternoon , and march with the band to Nixon : Field.** - *%
