Corletti, ' ranked No. 2 among the 1 heavyweight contenders by the , World Boxing Association, hasn’t dropped a fight since late in 1964.George Chuvalo was among the victims the Argentine-born Italian took, and ringsiders said Corletti handled Chuvalo more easily than Cassius Clay did.But Chuvalo picked Lewis, who knocked out 10 in 17 wins, to whip the good looking, 6-foot, 3-inch Corletti “Lewis punches faster than Corletti, and harder. The only way to heat Eduardo 1 is to carry the fifth to him, to make him fight your way. And Lewis is always on the attack,” Chuvalo said.Corletti, however, who boasts , one of boxin’s few all-girl fan clubs in England, has knocked out 15 in his 24 victories. Despite his height and rangy 195-pound frame, he is known for speed.Lewis, a native Detroiter, has an extra inch of height and 20 more pounds over his opponent —factors which might keep him from firing in later rounds.The stakes are high for both fighters as their trainers say the winner will seek to challenge heavyweight title holders Joe Frazier or Jimmy Ellis. In fact, Olympia Stadium, scene of the fight, is offering “either champion a minimum purse of $100,000 for a title bout” with the winner.
