Four-Hitter INets Carters 2tlPonytail Win «J1MEDINA — In Medina Ponytail League play, Carter’s Home Improvement nipped Savings DepositBank, 5-3. Loretta Popovic notched the victory as she allowed only four hits while striking out one. Ann Marshall, with one strikeout, allowed 10 hits andsuffered the loss.Miss Popovic paced the Carter batters by rapping out a double and a homerun. Debbie Deyling and Dena Gregory doubled and singled, Kathy McClaning singled twice, and Marsha Smith singled to round out the hits for the winners.Miss Marshall led the Bankers by slashing out a homerun. Shelly West, Jean Keating and Linda Urban singled for Savings Deposit.In other Ponytail League action, Medina Supply got three singles by Kathy Gifford to lead them past Stop and Go, 9-8.Marion Scott picked up the victory while Sue Ellsworth was handed the loss. Chris and Sue Lampheau both doubled for the winners while Darla Riggenbach, Cheryl Ixmg, and Becky Abell cracked a pair of one-baggers each for Stop and Go.Cheryl Kassel.s three hits, including a triple, led Old Phoenix Bank to a 13-6 victory over the Eagles in a Medina Ponytail league game Tuesday.Adding to the Bankers’ bat brigade were Joy I^ehman, Joni Grieve, and Lisa Quesada, all of whom connected for a pair of safeties. Lehman was the winning pitcher.Losing hurler Terry Umpleby homered and her teammate Sherry Myers went three for three in the losingcause.
