The last session of golf lessons will start on August 3 and run throughAugust 21.There are openings in beginning,intermediate and advanced golf and tennis. These classes arefor students 8 through18 years of age.There are also openings in the adult tennis lessons from 3 to 4 p.m. and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. starting Monday and running through August 7. At the beginning of the bottom of the fourth inning the Hill nine trailed3-1, but the Santa Fe catcher, Abeyta, dropped the ball on a play at home and two runs scored, tying up the game.Post 90 picked up the winning margin in the sixth, as Hawthorne doubled home Quackenbush and Bill Pruett tripled to score Hawthorne.Santa Fe came back ro score one in the ninth and were threatening again when the inning and game ended.Los Alamos ended the regular season with a 12-2 record. In earlier tournament games Post 90 had beaten Tucumcari, 6-1, and Santa Fe, 5-3.In earlier action Post 90 had beaten Sam a Fe4-3 to take the leaguechampionship . Jim Osborne worked 5 1/2innings giving up only two hits and striking out 11. However, Santa Fe picked up three runs in the first inning on two walks, adouble and a passed ball.Pierotti singled out Rick Dvorak, the team's catcher, for particular praise, saying that he caught all games through the tournament and did an4 4outstanding job.“ Los Alamos,” said Pierotti, “will be sending one of the best defensive clubs ever to thestate tournament. We have a crack infield to go with our pitching.” Dave Baldridge at third, who made all-state third baseman* Tom Hawthorne and Don Quackenbush at shortstop and second base, who are very fast and hit well. Bill Pruett, hitting .500 for the year at first base, and, of course, the bigwork horse Rick Dvorak, who caught all games this season and was picked as the outstanding defensive catcher in the tournament by the umpires, round out the infield,” he said.Doug Seegmiller, who displayed good hitting in the tournament, fills in the infield. Outfielders # said Pierotti, include Floyd Segura, Mike Jennings, Rod Geer, Charles, Pacheco, Spike Jones and Dennis McClosky.44 The Post 90 team should make a good showing.
