Over sixty percent of their games thus far this year the Merchants got off to a bad start. The opposition always seema to score in this inning, many times proving disastrous, as it did yesterday.Yesterday, after two were out, Bauer beat out a hit to third, Fleming winding up before throwing to first, tho ball then sailing fat* over Cy Young’s head. Bauer took second. This seemed to upset Martin and he walked HofCerth. Peters singled to left, scoring Bauer. Lind-holm hit another down to Fleming and Tom duplicated his feat by throwing it away at first, scoring two mare runs and putting the Merchants off to a bad start. Martin fanned the next hitter to end the disaster.Grejgor pitched ah*-tight ball with exception cf the fourth when the Merchants knocked him for five htta that were good for three runs.Thursday evening at 6 15 the Merchants play the highly touted House of David nine at Turner field. A record crowd is expected to be on hand to see this game.
