An apt pupil, he tangled himself in the heartstrings of the thousands he met during a brief newspaper oareu.- by his constant good humor, his willingness, the fairness of his Yicws. A good friend was Johnny Davis, a good worker, a good fighter.f,ITr see this through, was hiB favorite expression. And he always 1 grinned.At 5 o’clock Fridai evening the dark angel released 2f-year-old Johnny from the bonds of pain at which he had struggled in a losirfg light for 12 months. Just a few hours before he died, I saw Johnny. Wasted away and hardly able to talk, he managed a little smile and whispered;Pop, 2'll see this through. •I wasriw ashamed of tears then.Johnny^ family, mother, father and three brothers, are bearing up under the blow. It caire n.-tural for Johnny to “see things through.The funeral will be held at 4:30 Sunday afternoon from the Hagy and McCollum chapel. Jrial will be in Mission Burial park.The Rev. L. C. Beasley, father of one of Johnny's Brackenridge high school chums, will conduct the ser-vices, and some of Johnny's friends will serve as pallbearers. The active pallbearers will be Lawrence Flinn, Charles Filnn, Gpnrge Tucker, Irving Wruck, Bob Warren, and Harold Scherwitz; the honorary will be Rodham Rutledge, Prank Laro, Renwicke Cary, Richard Adamg, Dan Quill, George Huntress Jr., EllLson Echterholf and Clark Nealon,Davis died at his home, 3000 South. New Braunfels avenue. Besides his parents,/ Mr. and Mrs. John Fleetwood Davis Sr., and his younger brothers, Jamea W., Elbert S, and Richard H., he is survived by his grandTaLher, General J. T.
