AMERICANS WIN ISOUT OF 18 EVENTS(By The AasocUtcd Preu)Stockholm. July 22 —With a record of 15 victories in 18 events against a picked team of European stars, the American track and field team headed toward Vasteras. Sweden, today for the second meet of Its continental tour.; The final events of the three-day program in old Olympic stadium here yesterday found Glenn Cunningham of Kansas and Ralph Metcalfe, American national sprint champion, again setting the pace for the continental runners. Turning in his third triumph over hts chief rival, Eric Ny of Sweden, the Kansas runner won the 1.500-me ter event in three minutes and 53 seconds. In previous races he had beaten the Swedish star in the 1.000 and 800 meter I events.Metcalfe beat Berger of Holland by two-tenths of a second to win the 100 yard dash in 9.6.In addition to annexing thre victories each for the visitors, these two also shared in the triumph of the American relay team which beat an European quartet in a special 1.000 meter event.
