July 22.—The Cedar Lake Motor Boat club,at member of the Mississippi ValleyPower Boat association, will have aperles of motor-boat races on the13th and 16th of August at Cedar Lake, Ind. A number of the fastesthydroplanes in tihe world will compete for tho national championship fct this time, and a large purse has been offered in order to encourage the races may be enjoyed from at-will also be a number of valuable trophies offered as prizes.Cedar Lake has an ideal three-mile course, and the progress of mi the races may be enjoye dfrom al-jnost any point on the lake.Boy E. Sager, of Hammond, president of the Cedar Lake organization, has been the leading spirit inthe enterprise.J. W. Sackrider, official starter for the Mississippi Vajiey Power Boat association, will be in the afcarting stand to send the boatsaway over the course. From tlie entries now on hand it ts probable that a number of records will bo•hattered, and with the assistance cf Dr. Daniels. A. T. Griffith andLeroy Cook, officials of the association, the success of the regatta isassured.The Chicago Vacht club and the Michigan City Yacht club have been invited to participate in the event.It Is also expected that the Amateur 'Athletic union of Indiana and Kentucky will put on several swimmingOnd fancy diving events which will and a great deal to the special attractions.Moreover, a number of skilled aqualine riders will entertain t#he spectators with a performance of this thrilling sport between races, and these special events will be staged around the lake so that* everyone will have the opportunity©f seeing well.The Pathe News will have representatives and camera-men on hand to take moving pictures of the various contests and feature races.Excursion trains will be run overthe Monon railroad to Cedar Lake%from Indianapolis and Chicago. The Chicago Motor club, the Illinois Automobile club, and the North Shore Kotor club have offered their cooperation in marking the various (OU?43s to Cedar Lake.Inasmuch as the occasion is a nov-tl one, ample parking space !« available and all events will betaged free, a large crowd is expected which will be well remembered with thrills and tine entertainment
