Playground ChatterAbout ISO mothers, babysitters, brothers and sisters and wee contestants were on hand Friday morning at Stark Street Playground for the annual Baby Show. With the weatherman’s cooperation, the special event was a complete success.Winners in the girls' categories were as follows: First prise for the prettiest baby girl was Michelle Williams, second prize went to Mary Roy, and third prize to Marie Buzzell. The daintiest baby girl in the show was Marilyn Buzzell. Suzanne Dick received second prize for the daintiest, and Jenifer LaFlamme walked off with third prize.Teacher CorpsProjects Begin In State SchoolsBURLING TON—Vermont isone of 22 states which will have new Teacher Corps projects beginning this summer and fall, the federal Office od Education has reported. The projects are designed to expand educational opportunities for children from low-income famlHasThe two-year programs will involve 1,400 interm and team leaders. Vermont is one of six states--the other are Alaska, Delaware, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota—which will have such a project for the first time.Dr. Alan Wheeler of the University of Vermont, who is state director of the project here, told The Banner that the College of Education at UVM and the state Department of Education in Montpelier will both participate in planning the program in VermontSpecific school districts in the state which will be affected arethe Alburg School District Barredty schools, Burlington School District, Rutland public schools and the Winooski School DistrictFirst prize for the cutest baby girl went to Susan Roy, second prize to Jen iff er Lee Bourdon, and third prize to Kimberly Mears. Laura Libonoski won a ribbon for being the tiniest baby girl and Tara Lynne Greene won second prize in that category.The most lively girl in the show was Julie Sukel. The two sleepiest girls were Laura Libonoski and Tara Lynne Greene.The happiest babies were twins—Penelope and Kimberly Rogers. Kim Bouplon won a ribbon for having the curliest hair. The chubbiest prize winner was Carrie Fabridus with EileenRatelle a close second. The most bashful babies were Kari AnneRacicot, Melissa Ouellette, and Beth Ann Forrest. Michelle Martin and Andrea Ivy won ribbons for the most beautifuleyes.For the baby boys the following won ribbons: Most Rugged— John Phillips and Buddy Bourgeois. Ribbons for the Handsomest boys were awarded Scott Blake and Jeffrey Wilkinson. The littlest boys were Barry Richardson and Gerald Lanoue. First prize for the happiest baby boy went to Richard LaFlamme, John Ratelle copping second-place honors. The most content boys were David Parmenter and Michael Burke. First prize for the most beautiful eyes went to Brian Pete and Paul Teenar. Patrick Kinney won a ribbon for being the sharpest-dressed contestant.The high point of the show was the crowning of royalty by the judges.
