SETS NEW RECORDGlenn Cunningham Wins 800 Meters Kace at Stockholm in Flashy TimeStockholm, July 21. {AF)—For the second time in two days Glenn Cunningham, middle-distance runner on the touring American track team, has featured events of the international track carnival at the old Olympic stadium.The University of Kansas ace, who Wednesday came within three tenths of a secopd equalling the world mark in the 1,000 ; meter race, yesterday smashed the: Swedish record for the S00 meter distance. Decisively defeating! Erik Ny, the flying Swede who trailed him to the tape in Wednesday's performance, Cunningham stepped the distance in 1:50.6, two and,two tenths seconds under the Swedish mark. Ny was. clocked in 1:52.3.Ralph Metcalfe of Marquette annexed another of the four victories which went to the American team in the six events on the program.
